I usually play pickup. How is this different?

Signing up feels the same: come alone, no team needed. The difference is what happens next. You get a balanced team for the month, a referee at every game, a table, a final every month, and every game filmed and rated.

How does a night work?

Each month has one format. This month it's King's Court: 90 minutes, three teams, 10-minute games. Two teams play while one waits. The winner stays on. Every win earns a point toward your night's table, and the top three teams play the final in week 4. In a month with a 5th week, you get a bonus night at no extra charge. Why is a night 90 minutes?

The first half hour is for settling in. You warm up, get to know your teammates and find the pace of the game. A one-hour booking ends just as you start playing well. With 90 minutes, you still get a full hour at your best after that, and the short breaks between games keep your legs fresh until the last whistle.

When do games start?

Pickup starts Sunday, November 8, one game at a time. Membership starts Sunday, December 6, with the same team all month. Both play Sunday nights in Toronto. The venue is announced soon, and everyone who books hears first by email.

Question 5

Do I need a team to sign up?

Accepted Answer

No. Every player registers individually. KICKR builds skill-matched teams based on your level and position. You stay with the same teammates for the month. There is no need to bring a team.

Question 6

What if my game gets cancelled?

Accepted Answer

If KICKR cancels a match day because of weather or a venue issue and cannot reschedule it inside the same month, that match is automatically credited to your next month at no cost. Weather or non-use after the 48-hour refund point does not qualify for a refund.

Where do we play?

In Toronto. The venue is announced once it is confirmed, and everyone who claims a spot hears first by email.

How do you manage attendance?

Rosters are set for the month. Your attendance history is recorded on your player profile. If your plans change, the in-app trade board lets you offer your night to another rostered player.

Am I too old to join?

Accepted Answer

No. KICKR is for men 18 and over, with no upper age limit. Teams are skill-matched, so whether you are 25 or 45 you play with and against players close to your level.

What if I am not very experienced?

KICKR runs skill-rated divisions to match you with players close to your level. You self-rate at signup, and your rating updates after each match based on results. The aim is balanced, competitive play, whether you are returning to recreational soccer or have varsity experience.

Question 11

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Claiming a spot is free, and nothing is charged until you choose to pay. Once you pay, every month is billed on the 24th of the month before. Cancel at least 48 hours before the month's first match for a full refund for that month. Later cancellation stops next month's charge, and the current month is non-refundable.
