01. Pickup on indoor turf
Most flexibleAny day of the week
Seasonal air domes go up over many outdoor turf fields for the cold months, and indoor sports centres run turf fields all year. Pickup apps and organizers book them and sell spots one game at a time.
- GoodRec lists indoor pickup across Toronto and the GTA, from 5v5 up, booked in its app.
- Toronto Soccer League runs indoor pickup and leagues in Scarborough.
- Your own group: field time rents by the hour on booking sites such as CatchCorner. Split it with friends.
Check the format and footwear rule before you pay. Most turf venues want turf shoes.
Best for: playing on turf when your week allows.
02. City gym drop-in
Lowest costSet times most weeks
The City of Toronto runs drop-in soccer in community centre gyms all winter. It is small-sided and fast on a hardwood floor, so bring non-marking indoor court shoes, not cleats.
Find this week's sessions on the City's Drop-in Sports Map, or read more in where to play soccer in Toronto.
Best for: a cheap game close to home on a weeknight.
03. KICKR Sunday nights. It's on.
Competitive soccer for adult men in Toronto, on turf or court, every week through the winter. Come on your own: teams are balanced by level and position, and there is a referee at every game. Venue announced soon.

04. Indoor leagues
Winter sessionA set night
Indoor leagues run a set night for the winter session. Most expect a team, and some take individual players.
- JAM Toronto runs indoor turf 6s for men's and mixed teams.
- Toronto Soccer League runs men's and co-ed indoor leagues and takes teams or individual players.
For more leagues, see the Toronto soccer leagues guide.
Best for: players with a crew who want the same night all winter.
Know your surface
Indoor soccer in Toronto is played on three kinds of surface. Your shoes are the one thing to get right.
Turf under a dome
Artificial grass for small-sided games. Wear turf shoes, and check whether cleats are allowed. KICKR does not allow them on any surface.
Gym floor
Hardwood at City community centres, small-sided and quick. Wear non-marking indoor court shoes.
Futsal court
5-a-side on a hard court with a smaller, heavier ball that bounces less. Indoor court shoes.
What to bring
- Shoes for the surface, checked against the venue's rule.
- Shin guards. Optional at most games, but recommended.
- A water bottle.
