Privacy Policy

Your data, used the way you'd expect.

Last updated: May 20, 2026. Applies to kickr.ca and the KICKR league. The data controller is KICKR Global Sports Inc., a Canadian federal corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act, with registered office at 3080 Yonge Street, Suite 6060, Toronto, Ontario M4N 3N1, Canada. KICKR is governed by Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for visitors and players in Quebec, by Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

The short version

What we collect

When you register for KICKR, we ask for:

We do not ask for or store your date of birth, government ID, address beyond city, social media accounts, or anything outside what's listed in this policy.

Why we collect it

Diagnostics and in-app feedback

The KICKR mobile app collects a small amount of first-party diagnostic data so we can fix bugs and improve the app. We do not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and we do not share this data with anyone outside KICKR.

Automatically, in the background: when the app records a notable event (a failed query, a crash, an authentication failure, a navigation, a milestone) we write a row to our own database in Canada containing your account id and player id, a per-app-session id, the screen you were on, the event type, severity level, the event message, the technical error name and stack trace if there is one, a snapshot of your last few in-app actions for context, optional structured detail about the event (e.g. which query name failed), the timestamp, the platform (iOS), your app version, build number, OS version, and device model (e.g. "iPhone 15 Pro"). We do not collect your location, contacts, microphone, photos, advertising identifier (IDFA), or any data from outside this app.

When you tap "Report a problem" in the app: we save the title and description you wrote, the severity you picked, the report category, the last 25 in-app actions you took (e.g. "opened My Card", "tapped Check in"), and pointers to recent background events from this app session, so we can reproduce what you saw without asking follow-up questions. The sheet lists exactly what's attached before you send.

When you tap "Send feedback" in the app: we save the title and description you wrote and the feedback category, plus your account id, player id, per-app-session id, app version, build, OS version, device model, and the screen you were on. No breadcrumbs and no background-event pointers. Feedback is opinion, not a debug artifact, so we keep the attached context minimal.

If you have voluntarily turned on "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may also share anonymised crash diagnostics with us through App Store Connect; you can turn this off at any time in iOS Settings.

Who we share it with

Four parties, all required to actually run the league or measure how the site is doing:

That's it. We don't share data with advertisers, marketing networks, social-media trackers, sponsors, or data brokers. If KICKR ever runs sponsored content or partner promotions, those will be sent from KICKR directly. Your email is never handed over.

Payment information

When you sign up for the free trial or pay for a monthly subscription, your card details are entered directly into Stripe's hosted Checkout or billing portal. They never touch KICKR's servers. Stripe is certified as a PCI-DSS Level 1 service provider, the highest available certification for handling card data, and tokenizes your card so KICKR only ever sees an opaque reference and the last 4 digits plus the card brand and expiry. For the May 25 to May 31, 2026 free trial, Stripe places a $0 verification authorization on your card at signup; nothing is captured. Your card issuer may briefly show a $0 hold on your statement. The full free-trial mechanics, including how the card converts to a paid charge on June 1, 2026, are described in section 14 of the KICKR participant waiver and terms.

Account credentials

Sign-in to the KICKR mobile app is provided through Apple Sign-In (Sign in with Apple) as the primary path, with a Resend-delivered email magic-link as a backup. KICKR does not store passwords for your account. When you sign in with Apple, KICKR receives an opaque Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address (which may be Apple's private email relay address rather than your real inbox). Apple's own privacy policy applies to your use of Sign in with Apple. If you sign in using the magic-link backup, Resend processes a one-time, short-lived sign-in link on KICKR's behalf under the same data-processing terms described under "Who we share it with" above; the link expires after a short window and cannot be reused once consumed.

Trial-only account retention

If you sign up for the May 25 to May 31, 2026 free trial and the trial never converts to a paid subscription (for example, because you cancelled before June 1, 2026 or because Stripe could not charge your card and you did not update it), your account is treated as a dormant trial-only account. Dormant trial-only accounts are locked out of the KICKR mobile app starting 12 months after the trial-end date and are then deleted from KICKR's systems, subject only to the 7-year payment and tax retention requirement noted under "How long we keep it" below (which applies only if any amount was ever charged). You can request earlier deletion at any time by emailing league@kickr.ca from the address you signed up with; we respond within 7 days. Trial accounts that do convert to a paid subscription follow the standard active-player retention rules below.

How long we keep it

You can request earlier deletion at any time, except for payment records that we are legally required to retain.

Your rights under PIPEDA

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email league@kickr.ca from the address you registered with. We respond within 7 days.

Cookies, analytics, and your choices

kickr.ca uses cookies and similar storage in two situations: a small essential set that is required for the site to function, and an optional analytics set that only loads after you tap Accept on the cookie banner. We do not use any advertising, retargeting, or social-media tracking cookies, full stop.

Essential (always on, no consent required)

Optional analytics (only after you tap Accept)

If you tap Accept on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics. Google sets a small number of cookies in your browser to tell repeat visitors from new ones and to group page views from the same visit. These cookies contain only random IDs and expire after 2 years.

While analytics is on, Google records: pages viewed, buttons clicked (including the "Pay & lock my spot" button), the source that sent you to the site (Instagram, Threads, email, direct, etc.), browser and device type, screen size, browser language, an approximate city derived from your IP for the visit, and a small set of conversion events ("viewed the registration page", "started a signup", "started checkout", "completed payment") so we can see how many visitors actually finish signing up.

We use Google's Consent Mode with both advertising and analytics signals defaulted to denied until you explicitly accept, which is what Quebec's Law 25 and Canadian regulators expect for non-essential tracking. We never send your name, email, phone, jersey size, or any other registration field to Google. We have not turned on Google Signals (cross-device tracking via Google accounts) and we have not linked Google Analytics to any Google Ads account.

Server-side conversion measurement

When you successfully complete a paid signup at Stripe Checkout, our server pings Google Analytics one time with a purchase event containing the order amount, currency, the same anonymous visitor ID your browser sent us, and a Stripe-generated transaction reference. This lets us see revenue per channel even if an ad-blocker hid the browser-side ping. It contains no name, email, phone, or card details.

Stripe Checkout

Stripe's hosted checkout page (which you visit when you pay) sets its own cookies for fraud prevention. Those are governed by Stripe's privacy policy linked above and are outside KICKR's control.

Changed your mind? Click below. We will clear your stored choice and the cookie banner will reappear the next time you visit a page on kickr.ca. If you previously accepted, this also tells Google Analytics to stop tracking you immediately on this page.

Security

Protecting your information is a first-order priority at KICKR. Every connection to kickr.ca is encrypted, your card details never touch our systems (they go straight to Stripe), and access to player data is limited to the small KICKR team that runs the league. We follow industry best practices for storage, access control, and incident response, and we review them on an ongoing basis. We will not publish the specifics of those controls, because doing so would reduce their effectiveness; if you are a security researcher and would like to report a concern responsibly, please email league@kickr.ca.

Age

KICKR is an 18+ league. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, email league@kickr.ca and we will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change (for example, adding a new vendor or changing the categories of data sent to Google Analytics), we will email every active player at least 14 days before the change takes effect, and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Trivial wording fixes do not trigger an email. The change made on May 11, 2026 added Google Analytics 4 with explicit consent under Consent Mode v2; see "Cookies, analytics, and your choices" above. The change made on May 20, 2026 added the "Payment information", "Account credentials", and "Trial-only account retention" sections to cover the May 25 to May 31, 2026 free trial cohort and the gated mobile-app account; nothing in the existing collection, sharing, or retention rules was reduced.
